FROM LAND TO SEA
Of French origin, with a dream since my youngest age to travel and explore faraway places.
I meet an exceptional captain in his round the world trip whose open smile and joie de vivre captivated my imagination. I visited his boat for the first time in 1989 in New Caledonia. The sense of freedom felt in the few hours i sailed onboard was so intense that i knew « one day, this would be my life »
What could be better than to sail the seven seas?……when i retire, i told myself.
A miraculous recovery from paralysis of my lower body following a terrible motorcycle accident at age 24. I realized that life could be very short, and that ones dreams should be lived here and now. One year of intense physical therapy and a dogged determination to succeed saw me walk again. Thanks to that dream of za round the world sailing trip.
First intensive sail training courses, followed by deliveries around the world, transatlantic and transpacific voyages followed one after other. Then came my meeting with my mentor Jean-Paul with his wide ranging knowledge of boating and builder of his boat. His generosity and wisdom inspired me enormously.
It was a logical step for me to begin to work on constructing my own floating home.
THE DREAM BECOMES REALITY
Departure on Touareg in 2007, a 33 footer in aluminium.
The links of the chain binding me to the system were broken one day in Africa, the door to freedom opened wide.
Discovery and exploration of the far south, Patagonia, Cap Horn and Antarctica, 8 years of journaling around the globe, rich in encounters and experience of an extra ordinary nature.
I decide to return to French Polynesia in 2015.
Since then, i take great pleasure in sharing my sailing passions on board my new boat PRANA.
